Meet Victoria

Bouônjour. My name is Victoria Li. I am standing as an independent candidate for Deputy in St Helier North in Jersey's 2026 general election.

I am the Founder and Director of Learn.je, a social enterprise that runs education programmes across our island. I am also a school governor, and I spent two years on the North School Advocacy Group. I have led the Jersey Lunar New Year Festival for four years in a row, worked as Project Manager for the Jersey International Cultural Centre, and volunteered with several charities on the island.

I was born and raised in China, and I went to state schools there, with Mandarin as my first language. I have a degree in English Literature with a teaching qualification, a degree in children's developmental psychology, and I carried out doctoral research in education, focusing on leadership. Before moving to Jersey, I built my career in Beijing, working in international education, cultural exchange, and the financial industry.

If elected, I hope to bring a real record of getting things done, roots in this community, and a clear focus on education and the people of St Helier North.

I speak English and Mandarin fluently, and I live in St Helier North with my family.

Why I am standing

Jersey deserves more than announcements. It needs delivery.

Before I ever considered standing for election, I was already building things on this island. I directed the Jersey Lunar New Year Festival for four consecutive years, bringing together thousands of people from across the community to celebrate one of the world's great cultural traditions. I served as Project Manager for the Jersey International Cultural Centre, a project that required cross-sector collaboration, long-term vision, and the ability to hold many different stakeholders together around a shared goal. I built education programmes from scratch, securing partnerships, writing grant applications, managing budgets, and above all working directly with children, young people, families and communities across this island.

All of it was Jersey.

I am standing for the people of St Helier North.

"If you want something done, ask Victoria.”

I am standing on a track record of delivery - in education, in business, in community building. I know how to identify a problem, design a solution, and see it through.

Why independent?

Standing as an independent is my respect for Jersey's tradition and a commitment to focus: on education, on the people of St Helier North, and on building something better, together.

Independence also means collaboration. I will work with whoever is in the States Assembly to move good policy forward. The challenges facing Jersey, cost of living, affordability, education, healthcare, gender equity, government spending are too important for silos.
